In my experience backfire works best in a high end SMG build with hazard protection. You lose too much running HazPro Hunter’s fury. That said, it is absolutely worth it in a high end build. You more than make up the CHD with the stacks and in prolonged engagements you’ll be at Max stacks most of the time.
